Ingleton
The village amenities are all within a few minutes' stroll from our lovely cottage and there are many glorious walks right on our doorstep, including the famous Ingleton Waterfalls Trail with 4.5 miles of spectacular waterfalls and wooded glens. The nearby Yorkshire Three Peaks and its challenge walk takes in the three highest peaks in the Dales. The magnificant Ingleborough can be climbed from our door via a pathway to the top from the village'; this is just one of the many walks from the doorstep. There is an abundance of activities from walking, road/moutain bike riding, wild swimming and dipping, rock climbing, caving, canyoning, paddleboarding, show caves and nature trails to name a few.
If its guided adventure you're after just get in touch with a few of the outdoor activity companies based in the village to see what they offer, most do daily adventures for all ages.
Ingleton has a varity of different, shops, cafes, querky bars, pubs and restaurants far to many to list here, but they are all within walking distance so you can forget about your car. The open air swimming pool is located on the other side of the river along with the play park and picnic area, and not forgetting the indoor climbing wall, excellent bakeries and take aways.
Unspoilt Countryside
Sitting at the foot of Ingleborough and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside, Ingleton is the gateway to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales national parks, with the market towns of Kirkby Lonsdale and Settle being only a short drive away.
Ingleton is an ideal location to climb the Yorkshire Three peaks, Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside, all in one day (Three Peaks Challenge) or a more leisurely pace of one a day. If its an exciting adventure holiday your after or a leisurely break, Riverside Cottage is the right location.
